New Black Panther-DOJ investigations urged

U.S. judge blocks part of Arizona law
A court-altered illegal immigration law went into effect July 29 and Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer vowed to seek reinstatement of provisions that were frozen because of a partial injunction even if she has to take her appeal “all the way to the Supreme Court.”
Thousands of New Yorkers protest mosque
More than 5,000 protested the planned construction of a mosque near the site of the World Trade Center terrorist attacks in New York City. The emotion-charged rally was promoted by Stop Islamization of America (SIOA), but received scant mention by the mainstream media.

l 2010 Benjamin Franklin Award for Courageous Journalism was given to Dom Giordano, radio talk show host with WPHT Radio (1210 AM) and Naomi Denenberg, on behalf of her late husband, consumer advocate and columnist Herb Denenberg, during the “Proud to Be An American” Tea Party celebration on the Fourth of July at Independence Mall in Philadelphia.
l Pray for America was the July 4 request to thousands of First Baptist Church members and a nationwide audience of internet and cable television viewers by Dr. Charles Stanley. The renowned author, pastor and founder of In Touch Ministries asked Americans to join in 140 days of prayer – from July 4 to Nov. 21, warning that the U.S. is in a “dangerous tide,” drifting toward socialism, indebtedness and severe taxation.
l About 50 protesters, including members of the Tea Party movement, greeted Vice President Joe Biden and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi when they arrived in Philadelphia for a Democratic fundraiser.
lThe City of Philadelphia agreed to share arrest information with federal immigration enforcement agents for one year in a modified contract after protesters reacted to reports that Mayor Michael Nutter might not renew it.
