America’s turning point: Midterm elections

Some view the Nov. 2 midterm elections as a last-ditch chance to save the nation from socialism and bankruptcy. In Bucks County, it still isn’t too late to register or apply for an absentee ballot. Check Bucks County Citizen for the latest information.

U.S. debt level: Flirting with a financial crisis

For the first time in the nation’s 234-year history, the United States’ debt level is expected to exceed
the gross domestic product (GDP) in 2012, based on forecasts by the International Monetary Fund (IMF). The debt is a serious concern to economists who see a double-dip recession as a possibility unless the U.S. reduces the nation’s

9.5% jobless rate, the rate of home foreclosures

and its record $13 trillion deficit.

America’s opposition to Obamacare intensifies

Opposition to healthcare reform continues to grow even though it is now the law of the land. As details about the 2,000-page legislation becomes public, concerns are surfacing because the bill does not match expectations. Promises about healthcare reform made by President Barack Obama are turning out to be inaccurate, misleading or false.

The Best of Herb Denenberg: Obama’s policies

Let’s not kid ourselves: President Barack Hussein Obama is well on his way to destroying America’s
economy and its national security. And let’s not kid ourselves on another point: We have elected an incompetent, America-hating radical and we should expect him to act accordingly.

Herb Denenberg, nationally-known consumer advocate and former Pennsylvania insurance commissioner, died March 18 at the age of 80. The article that appears in the September 2010 edition of Bucks County Citizen is from two of his final columns.

Barack Obama: In his own words (Part 2)

A collection of broken promises, misstatements and defining moments from President Barack Obama. A sampling: “First, I will not sign a [healthcare] plan that adds one dime to our deficits – either now or in the future.” Sept. 9, 2009.

New Black Panther-DOJ investigations urged

Republicans and at least one Democrat are urging investigations into the Justice Department’s (DOJ) dismissal of the New Black Panther voter intimidation case because of allegations of racial discrimination against both whites and blacks and violations of the Voting Rights and National Voter Registration acts.

U.S. judge blocks part of Arizona law

A court-altered illegal immigration law went into effect July 29 and Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer vowed to seek reinstatement of provisions that were frozen because of a partial injunction even if she has to take her appeal “all the way to the Supreme Court.”

Thousands of New Yorkers protest mosque

More than 5,000 protested the planned construction of a mosque near the site of the World Trade Center terrorist attacks in New York City. The emotion-charged rally was promoted by Stop Islamization of America (SIOA), but received scant mention by the mainstream media.
